The one week intensive workshop, led by founder and director Jeff Lawrence, culminated with an astounding showcase in front of almost 200 people at the Cuban Club Theater in Ybor City. Several comics made their stage debut and the group received a standing ovation at the shows end. Laughing Buddha Comedy, with director Jeff Lawrence is planning another visit to the Tampa area for a one week intensive workshop! Yes, you too can be a star! This one week workshop will include:
* A history and overview of stand up comedy
* Finding your true personality on the stage
* Learning to craft a five minute set
* Writing effective punches to your jokes
* Connecting with an audience
* Handling hecklers and difficult audiences
* Effective mic techniques
* Developing strong opening and closing material
* The business side of earning money in comedy
*Class size limted to 12 students to maximize personal attention.
*Classes are held Monday through Friday 6 to 9PM
*Tuition includes 5 workshops, a private writing session, and a DVD of your graduation show.
*Tuition is $400 for new students, and $350 for returning students.
