They have written for Seinfeld, Cheers, Ellen, Chelsea Lately, the movie Super Size Me and more. We choose our instructors carefully, they must be talented, giving, and care about the comedians that entrust them.

Jeff Lawrence is the owner and director of Laughing Buddha Comedy (LBC), NYC’s leading independent producer of stand up comedy shows, host to the city’s most recognized open mics, and proud home of the Laughing Buddha Comedy School, as featured on the front page of the Wall St. Journal. LBC’s efforts have been recognized by the industry since it was established in 2009.
Jeff is also the producer of new talent showcases in NYC for the National Chain of Catch a Rising Star. He produces club auditions and industry showcases, and has booked comics in NYC’s top comedy clubs including The Stand, Stand Up NY, Eastville, Broadway Comedy Club, and many others. As a featured performer and producer of the Laughing Buddha Industry Shows, he has worked with the top bookers and agencies in the tri state area including Roger Paul Inc., Tony Camacho at Top Drawer, Brad Axelrod at Treehouse Entertainment, Linda Rohe, and Bobby Gonzo, among others. Jeff has also worked closely with MTV, Frontier Booking International, Avanti Talent Management., Cinematic Management, The Buchwald Agency , CESD, (Cunningham) Agency, Liz Lewis Casting, and other casting and agency leaders. He has helped countless comics develop and nurture their acts for the road, commercials, TV, film, reality TV, and hosting appearances.
As a performer, Jeff has appeared on MTV Europe, NBC, The Grammy Awards with Bob Dylan, and Behind the Music as well as performing in the The Laughing Devil Comedy Festival, The NY Underground Comedy Festival, and the Stand Up 360 Comedy Festival. His sarcastic wit, and biting cynicism, combined with his musical comedy exploits have led him to perform in such exotic places such as Buenos Aires, Montreal, the Greek Islands, Barcelona, and Goa, India. He has been heard on the Dr. Fritz Radio Show, Mancow Radio, and hundreds of college stations across the country. He is also a regular at many of NYC’s top comedy venues, and is always working, honing and practicing his craft. He has appeared in the Daily News, and Gala Magazine, while his teaching efforts have been featured on the front pages of the the Wall St. Journal, and the Tampa Bay Times; the school was also branded by Rachael Ray Magazine, as “Outlandishly Cool”.
Joe DeVito has the power to start fires using his mind, and he also does stand-up comedy. Whether taking on relationships, his Italian-American family, or current events, Joe’s dead-on timing, unexpected twists and sheer flights of lunacy make him a favorite at clubs and colleges across the USA, and at the top venues in New York City.
After spending a decade as a journalist and advertising writer, Joe gave into his coworker’s demands to try performing so he could find fame, while they finally got some work done. In 2006, he was invited to the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival in Canada, where the Montreal Gazette rated his performance “9.5 out of 10.”
Joe’s TV appearances include The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS, Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, and a semi-finalist turn on season five of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. His savage wit has also made him an in-demand panelist on shows like Chelsea Lately, CNN’s Headline News, Animal Planet’s Wild 100, and a regular guest on FOX News Channel’s Red Eye. As a writer, Joe has contributed to Maxim Magazine, MTV, and the award-winning film Super Size Me.
Dave Hanson worked in the writer’s room at Chelsea Lately for 150 episodes as well as contributing as a staff writer on several pilots. Dave is a published writer, actor and comedian living in New York City.
Originally from Olympia, Washington, Dave studied Theatre and English Literature at Whittier College and trained in improv, sketch comedy and acting in both New York and Los Angeles.
Dave is also an internationally published and produced playwright whose full length comedy Waiting For Waiting For Godot opened in London at the St. James’ Theatre in 2016. His other published works include The Exit Interview, Cafe d’Automatique, and Thank You For letting Me Have Sex With You. Other writing credits include, Inside Sports (Versus), Beer :30 (Versus) and Gene Pool (Fox).
As an actor and comedian Dave has appeared in Trainwreck (Universal), Crashing (HBO), The Detour (TBS), Inside Amy Schumer (Comedy Central), The Onion News Network (IFC).
Dave is a member of The Collective NY, The Stillwater Writers Group and is a writer/performer for the sketch group The Shorts Show.
Kevin Dombrowski is a standup comedian that constantly finds himself in the wrong place at the right time for comedy.
A regular around the New York comedy circuit, Kevin has been seen multiple times on The Artie Lange Show on DirecTV, Comedy Time TV, and The Wendy Williams Show.
Kevin has been cast in a series of Geico SportsNite Commercials, entitled ‘The House Of Fans’ as the ‘Yankee Fan’, circulating on SNY and other networks.
A regular on the Artie Quitter Podcast (Artie Lange’s Uncensored Podcast), Kevin has also been heard on Laughin’ and Livin’ with Carlos Mencia and Friends (Carlos Mencia’s Podcast), The Joe and Scott in the Morning Radio Show, as well as numerous other podcasts and radio programs around the country.
Kevin has been featured in several comedy festivals and competitions, including numerous times in the annual March Comedy Madness standup competition at the legendary Carolines On Broadway.
Kevin has performed with such acts as Gilbert Gottfried, Artie Lange, and Colin Quinn.
When not performing at the top comedy clubs, casinos, and colleges around the country, you can catch Kevin opening up regularly for Carlos Mencia on the road.
Vanessa Hollingshead is a national touring headliner that has appeared in Woody Allen's Cafe Society, the Vagina Monologues, Gotham Season 4, and Comedy Central Presents (Half Hour Special). She was listed on Oxygen's TV Special "Fifty of the Funniest women alive." She has also performed at The Montreal Comedy Festival on numerous occasions. Her tours include: the Middle East (for our troops) and Europe. She has worked alongside Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Norton, and George Carlin.
